Cenk Functional Assessment™

Cenk Functional Assessment

Objective Assessment

Since the major goal of Cenk Corrective Care is to restore every patient to their “normal” functional capacity (considering age, sex, occupation, etc.), it is imperative that care begin with a specific and objective assessment of your current functional status.

The Cenk Functional Assessment is comprised of 22 separate physical tests and biomechanical evaluations that measure and document a patient’s current status in several key categories:

  • General health
  • Pain perception
  • Condition-specific issues
  • Psychometrics
  • Patient Satisfaction
  • Job dissatisfaction
  • Disability

Lifestyle Assessment

In addition, the Cenk Functional Assessment includes lifestyle assessment in the areas of exercise and fitness, nutrition and diet, and personal health appraisal.

Benchmark to measure Progress

Once your current functional status is determined, the Cenk Functional Assessment benchmarks your status in key functions against normative data for similar groups; based on age, sex, and occupation. Thus, the Cenk Functional Assessment establishes an objective baseline from which your patient progress can be specifically determined and isolates key functional pathologies that guide therapeutic planning and clinical decisions.

Quality Care and financial reimbursement

Because the Cenk Functional Assessment objectively measures treatment effectiveness, regardless of treatment methods utilized, it is a fundamental requirement for quality care and financial reimbursement approval from third-party payer such as insurance companies, workers’ compensation, and medicare.

Documentation standards

In order for patient benchmarking, progress measurement, and reimbursement approval to be effective and acceptable to all parties, treatment activities must be properly documented. The Cenk Functional Assessment uses the following techniques and standards for patient care documentation:

  • Validate the patient’s subjective complaint and improvement with the visual analogue scale (”VAS”).
  • Measure functional loss and recovery progress with various endurance, muscle, range-of-motion, and proprioception (balance) tests.
  • Determine changes in activities of daily living (”ADL’s”) with specific questionnaires.
  • Establish psycho-social state with behavioral questionnaire.
  • Record time off of work

Reports

All patients receive a personalized Functional Assessment Report that includes:
Assessment Report 1
EXAMINATION - vitals and results for basic tests (Dynamometer, One Leg Balance, Cervical Spine Strength, Static Back Endurance)

EXERCISE AND FITNESS - review current exercise regimen and specific goals

NUTRITION AND DIET - detail current nutrition and dietary habits in critical areas

PERSONAL HEALTH APPRAISAL - reflex response to twelve standard health appraisal questions and implications for current health

DOCTORS COMMENTS - specific comments addressing each one of the areas contained in the assessment; including observations, concerns, and immediate recommendations.

Assessment Report 2As part of the Cenk Functional Assessment, a separate Examination Findings and Recommendations for Care is included. The Examination Findings and Recommendations for Care includes listing and results for all tests performed, detail of significant findings, and recommended treatment protocol.
